Collaboration between Music and Media in Vietnam
20 Mar 2010
During the past months, music and media students from the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) collaborated
with students from the Conservatories and Academies of Theatre and Cinema in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Together they have build an impressive portfolio of short films, music and videoclips that expresses the Vietnamese identity and 'living culture'. At the same time, students from the Faculty of Art and Economics (HKU) and from Utrecht University researched the Vietnamese creative industries about their needs with regard to higher education in music, sound and media. Both activities (building a joint portfolio, researching the creative industries) are to be seen as a step towards the development of a Bachelor curriculum in Music Design and, at a later stage, in Media Design.
The website http://hkuvietnam.tumblr.com contains the joint portfolio.
