Netherlands to Enhance Multifaceted Cooperation with Vietnam: Ambassador

The Netherlands is going to boost the bilateral cooperation with Vietnam in flood control, port building, agricultural production and health, the Dutch newly-accredited ambassador to Vietnam Jozef Willem Scheffers said in Hanoi.
During a meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan
Dung March 26, Jozef Willem Scheffers noted Dutch Minister of
Agriculture and a Secretary of State in charge of water management will
visit Vietnam in the near future to discuss details of the cooperation
in relevant aspects.
The Dutch diplomat also informed the host of an
aid worth of millions of EUR to be given by the Dutch government to
help improve Vietnam’s education in the coming time.
Dung for his part expected he European country
would share with Vietnam experiences in response to climate change and
rising sea-level in Ho Chi Minh City and coastal provinces.
The PM also thanked the Dutch administration for providing ODA capital and backing Vietnam in the leather shoe dumping lawsuit, as well as offering the Southeast Asian country preferential tariff treatment.
The Netherlands is among leading European investors in Vietnam with a total investment capital of US$2.6 billion.
Last year, the two-way trade value between the two nations reached US$2 billion.
