Binh Duong, on the morning of November 5th, 2008 – Nuffic Neso Vietnam and Dutch Lady Vietnam have just signed an Memorandum of Understanding for the Orange Tulip scholarship 2008, at the premises of Dutch Lady Vietnam. Dutch Lady Vietnam has earmarked 90,000 euro to sponsor four Vietnamese top students to study in The Netherlands from 2009 to 2010.

During the signing ceremony, the acting Consul General of The Netherlands in Hochiminh City, Mr. Marc H. C. Sprik indicated that this initiative from the Dutch Business community is a clear signal that Dutch businesses take their social responsibilities seriously. He expressed his hope that other Dutch companies and Dutch Universities will join the Orange Tulip Scholarship by providing talented Vietnamese students chances to develop their talents and become a meaningful asset to their own country. Malte Stokhof, director of Neso Vietnam indicated that the Orange Tulip Scholarship is open to all sponsors; businesses, Dutch universities and individuals. Several other companies have already expressed their interest in becoming an Orange Tulip Scholarship sponsor.

The Dutch Lady scholarship scheme has several objectives; the first is to further strengthen relationships between the Netherlands and Vietnam through the sponsorship of Vietnamese students. Secondly, this scholarship scheme fits into the approach Dutch Lady Vietnam has taken towards its social responsibilities as a foreign company in Vietnam. The last objective is to train highly talented students in The Netherlands to become future leaders within Dutch Lady’s global enterprise.

Top students with a background in the fields of marketing, food technology, are invited to apply but some other fields may also be accepted with exceptionally talented students either in Vietnam or in the Netherlands. Dutch Lady Vietnam will sponsor the last year of their bachelor’s (scholarship of one year) or their complete master’s (scholarship of two years if applicable).

Detailed requirements are published on our website. The application deadline is 1 April 2009. There are two important criteria: firstly applicants should be already be accepted at Dutch universities to apply for the scholarship, secondly, applicants should be committed to return to work in Vietnam to continue their training at the Dutch Lady Vietnam Talent Factory. With the scholarship and the Talent Factory, Dutch Lady Vietnam aims to train future leaders for their company.
