Testimonial from Koen Boonen's

As a student Operations Management and Logistics at Eindhoven University of Technology I was able to experience Vietnam during a 3-week study tour.
From the modern Ho Chi Minh City in the south, we travelled by train via several places to the capital Hanoi in the North. The metropolitan (night-) life in HCMC; the beaches, jungles and mountains in the rest of the country and the old Asian atmosphere in Hanoi, it was all amazing to me.
Despite of the fact Vietnam has such a violent history, with so much war during the last century; the Vietnamese people are focused on the future. This made an unforgettable impression on me. On one hand they are very open and friendly, and on the other hand they have an enormous persistence to develop Vietnam further. During visits at several companies all managers explained that the success of their business lies in the achievements of their Vietnamese workers.
Together with the Netherlands Education Support Office in HCMC we have visited one of the leading universities in Vietnam; Ho Chi Minh University of Technology. It was very interesting to visit a similar department to ours (Industrial Management), and to discover the differences and things we have in common. HCMUT turned out to be a prestigious university and we were both able to learn from each other.
It’s hard not to fall in love with Vietnam!
